WHAT CAN A HOME SHOPPER DO FOR YOU?
A building or renovation project has a lot of events that must be done in a certain sequence if the project
is to be completed on time , and more importantly, on budget. Whether it is one room, an addition,
or a whole house, the steps are pretty much the same. There are certain items that the contractor
supplies as part of his quote, but the overwhelming majority of the items must be provided by the
owner. For example, here is a typical (not all inclusive) list of what the contractor usually provides (all
paid for by the owner) for a new kitchen and what the owner must provide:
NOTE: There are usually separate contractors for drywall, framing, paint and trim, elec- trical,
plumbing, appliance installation, cabinetry and countertops, to name a few. The appliance,
cabinet, or countertop retailers may also have their own installation teams.
